Lisa O’Neill

An accidental highlight of our visit to the Edinburgh Festival – on the last evening we went to a free event at the book festival in Charlotte Square, billed as an evening of readings and music. It turned out to be all music, with three singer-songwriters taking turns. Two (I’ve forgotten their names) were ok , but the Irish musician Lisa O’Neill was something else. I’m not much of a folkie, but I loved both her singing of traditional songs and her own witty and emotional compositions.  In particular, her tribute to Bob Dylan was  a joy – here it is on You Tube:
